Billing and OSS ModernizationpublicSoutheast Asia

Case Study 1: Billing Modernization for a Tier 1 Telecom Operator

Client Profile: Tier 1 Mobile Network Operator
The Challenge

The operator's billing platform was a single, monolithic application running on manually managed servers. Adding a new pricing plan required a full regression test cycle and a scheduled release window, often a multi month process. The system also lacked real time charging, which limited the operator's ability to launch flexible prepaid offers to compete in its market.

What We Built

A convergent billing platform rebuilt as a set of independent microservices, with separate services for rating, charging, invoicing, and reconciliation, each able to be updated and scaled on its own. Real time charging was introduced to support flexible prepaid plans at enterprise volume.

The Result

New plan launch time dropped from months to days. System uptime improved noticeably during peak billing cycles.

Case Study 2: Network API Integration for a Large Mobile Operator

Client Profile: Tier 1 European Carrier
The Challenge

The operator wanted to offer SIM verification and location based services to enterprise partners, but had no standardized way to expose these network capabilities. Every partner integration was a custom, one off project that took engineering time away from other priorities.

What We Built

A CAMARA aligned network API layer sitting between the operator's core network and OSS systems and its external partners, exposing SIM verification and location services through standardized, documented APIs with authentication and rate limiting built in from day one.

The Result

Partner integration time dropped from weeks to days for each new partner onboarded.

Case Study 3: Monolith to Microservices Migration for a Telecom Software Vendor

Client Profile: Telecom Software Vendor & ISV
The Challenge

The vendor's OSS platform had grown into a single, tightly coupled application over several years. Every deployment carried real risk, since even minor changes required redeploying the entire system, and scaling meant scaling everything at once, not just the components actually under load.

What We Built

An incremental migration to a microservices architecture, breaking the monolith apart by business domain, containerizing each service with Docker, and orchestrating deployment with Kubernetes, all done in phases to avoid extended downtime for the vendor's own enterprise customers.

The Result

Deployment risk dropped significantly, high traffic components could finally scale independently, and the release cycle shortened across the board.

Case Study 4: Predictive Monitoring Rollout for a National Telecom Operator

Client Profile: National Telecommunications Provider
The Challenge

The operations team typically learned about system issues only after they caused visible service degradation. Monitoring existed but was manual. Dashboards were in place, but nobody was watching them at the right moment, and there was no early warning mechanism in the system.

What We Built

A full observability layer using Prometheus for metrics collection and Grafana for visualization across core operational systems, paired with an AI based anomaly detection layer trained on the operator's actual system behavior, flagging issues before they escalated into outages.

The Result

Mean time to detection dropped sharply, and unplanned downtime incidents were reduced across the monitored systems.

Case Study 5: Product Catalog and Digital Engagement Platform for an MVNO

Client Profile: High-Growth Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO)
The Challenge

The operator managed pricing plans and bundles through manual configuration and internal spreadsheets, with no self service ordering experience for customers. Every plan change or new offer required manual backend work from the engineering team.

What We Built

A flexible product catalog engine for managing plans, pricing, and bundles, paired with a digital engagement platform providing a customer facing shopping cart, order management, and self service portal.

The Result

Time to launch a new plan or offer dropped substantially, and self service order volume increased as customers gained the ability to manage their own accounts online.

Case Study 6: Legacy OSS Modernization and Observability Upgrade

Client Profile: Integrated Fixed & Mobile Telco Operator
The Challenge

The operator's OSS environment was aging, difficult to modify safely, and offered no real visibility into system health. Issues were typically discovered through customer complaints rather than internal monitoring, which put pressure on both engineering and customer support teams.

What We Built

A combined engagement. We modernized core OSS components onto a cloud native, microservices based architecture, and layered in Prometheus and Grafana observability with automated alerting as part of the same rollout.

The Result

System visibility improved immediately, incident response time dropped, and the core OSS was modernized without disrupting service for the operator's existing customers.
